It's only Wednesday and it feels like the longest week ever already! On Monday morning, I made poor rashy Hazel a vet appointment for right after work. I get a call from Mom about an hour later stating that Audrey has a headache and is throwing up. I freak out, run her to the doctor (viral infection - treatment is to tough it out), drop her off at home and head to the pharmacy to get her some anti-nausea medication and then grab Hazel and take her to the vet. Hazel's summer allergies were so bad that she has a secondary skin infection and a double ear infection. I felt like such a bad doggy mommy for waiting so long to take her in. The vet said that her skin looked really bad and probably felt like it was on fire, which is why she was keeping us up all night with her chewing and scratching. Within a couple of hours of starting her steroids, she was a much happier, less itchy girl!
Miss Pitiful was cheered up briefly when a special surprise that Daddy had ordered arrived on Monday evening. It was hard to find because it is such a minor character in the movie, but Andy finally found an Aayla Secura action figure!
Audrey only threw up once yesterday and was a little feverish that evening, but I knew she was feeling better when she went upstairs and got into her dress up box. She even picked out stuff for Bridget to wear. Andy and I had the pleasure of eating dinner with two cute little fairy princesses! I will have to get the pictures off of my camera and post them later.
Miss B is cracking us up lately because she is obsessed with closing doors! If there is a door open, she makes a bee line over to close it. It's not just limited to doors either. She went to go throw some trash away the other night and was walking out of the kitchen and noticed that a drawer was not shut all of the way, so she had to go back and push it shut.
She has been melting my heart lately because when I put her to bed, she says "Nigh nigh. I wub you." So cute!!
I will leave you with a picture of B that big sis took with my phone. :)

Stuff We've Been Up To
Also known as: Here are a bunch of pictures because I don't have anything to write about!
We have been doing a lot of coloring lately.
Audrey has been getting much better. She doesn't just color the whole page one color anymore. She takes her time and colors everything the appropriate color. I had to throw away all of the cheap crayons and buy only washable ones because someone *cough*Bridget*cough* likes to color on the counter. Unfortunately, the crayons I bought don't have pink in the pack and Ariel wears a pink dress so we had a mini meltdown until I found a pink marker!
We've been decorating the walls...
And the dog...
The Star Wars guys took a ride on some jungle animals... Audrey insists on being called Aayla most of the time. If you call her by her name, she says "You mean Aayla?" She also decided to change her middle name to Flamingo, so I guess she is now Aayla Flamingo Farbotko!
Bridget has been trying to figure out how to watch DVDs...
Audrey learned how to take pictures with my phone and captured Daddy reading a magazine
We went to the Dollar Tree and I let the girls each pick out a toy. Bridget originally picked out this horse hat, but luckily traded it in for a monkey bath sponge after wearing the hat half way around the store!
We bought a small flat screen TV for our room this weekend, so our mini bedroom makeover is complete. The next household project involves replacing some damaged drywall, so I'm sure Andy isn't very eager to get started on that!
The end!

Prison Break
I got a free hand held mini digital camcorder from Office Depot and got a chance to test it out today. I put Bridget up for her nap and a couple of minutes later, she came walking down the hallway. I put her back in her crib and sat in her rocking chair and watched her swiftly climb back out, so I went and got Andy and the video camera. The quality is worse than my iPhone, but hey, that's what you get for free! Also, I realized after I took the video that the lens still had the protective plastic over it - oops!
The poor thing actually broke the wooden doll cradle on this attempt.
After we took this video, Andy lowered the crib to the lowest setting and we put B back in. She went over to the corner to attempt her escape and was PISSED when she couldn't reach her leg up! We figured we will go ahead and take the front off to convert it into a toddler bed whenever she learns how to get out from the lowest setting. Big sis fell out of her crib once while trying to escape and never did it again. Bridget has proven once again that she is nothing like Audrey was!

Me and B
Last night, Audrey wanted to go to trivia with Andy, so Bridget and I had a rare Mommy and Bridget evening. We had fun pointing out various parts of our faces (until B kept trying to lick me - yuck!), playing with my Hipstamatic app on my phone,
When Audrey got home from trivia, I asked her if she had fun and she told me that Daddy let her have soda - I guess that was the highlight of the evening since they didn't win! I never gave much thought to the issues of Daddy taking her to the bathroom, but she is too little to go into the ladies room by herself, so she has to go into the nasty mens room when she is out with Andy. I had to laugh when he told me that he kept having to tell her "Audrey, we don't sing in the men's room. We don't make up songs about tiny toilet paper rolls." I'm sure the other men at the restaurant loved being serenaded while they used the urinal! ;)
You know how most kids come into their parents rooms at night saying that there is a monster under their bed? Audrey came into our room the other night at around 11. I was already asleep but was awoken by Andy's laughing. Audrey came in and nonchalantly said "There's not an alien under my bed" and climbed into our bed. I think she needs to learn how the whole sleeping-in-mommy's-room thing works!
and painting her finger and toenails. Bridget wanted to try doing her toes, so I found a light color, got most of the paint off of the brush and let her have at it. She sat there and painted away, even stopping to dip the brush in the bottle to get more polish.
I think she's actually trying to do my toe in this picture:

Fresh Paint
Somebody has kidnapped my husband and replaced him with a guy on a cleaning/home improvement kick. I mentioned to Andy on Saturday that Sherwin Williams was having a great sale and that I was going to pick up some paint for the kitchen (a project that I have been pondering and started on months ago). He told me to go ahead and pick a color for the bedroom too, and by Saturday night, we had a newly painted room!
Our room was one of the ones that we haven't done anything with since we moved into the house and the walls were a drab, pale green and the double tray ceiling was still white. We went from this:

Our next mini-makeover is the kitchen - I can't wait to lighten up the olive green walls! That just leaves the office, the dining room, the foyer and the playroom left to freshen up.
I have been asking Audrey nearly every day this summer if she wants to go to the pool and she never does. On Sunday, she randomly wanted to go to the pool, but first I had to help Andy load some old furniture into his truck to drop off at Goodwill. I also put a baby toy in my car to bring to Baby Madeline and she got mad that I was getting rid of toys. She looked at me and yelled "You're ruining my life!" I thought this type of drama was for preteens, but I guess Audrey is 3 1/2 going on 13!
Andy didn't want to go to the pool, so I took my first solo trip with the girls. Audrey was content playing on the stairs and we realized that she can touch the bottom in the shallow end, so I didn't have to worry too much about her. Bridget, on the other hand, wanted to be in the water, but then she would get mad and try to push my hands off of her. I only brought her life jacket and not one of the baby floats since I only have so many hands, but she wanted nothing to do with that, so she just had to be mad at me for holding her.
The water was SO hot so it wasn't very refreshing, but Audrey didn't want to leave. She tried to tell me that she wanted to learn to swim underwater in an effort to get me to stay, but since there wasn't anyone to watch B, she was out of luck!

Yesterday Grandma Mary and I took Bridget for her first haircut. She did much better than big sis did at her first cut, which was at about the same age. We got to the shopping center a little early so we bought some books at Barnes and Noble first. Here is Audrey while B was getting her hair cut.
The only time she really cried was when the stylist put the blow dryer to it really quick to make sure it fell nicely. Bridget even had mousse and texturizing gel put in - baby's first hair product! It turned out adorable and my little princess no longer has a mullet!
The girl at the salon had me hold Bridget while she cut her hair.
