Happy Halloween!

I got off work early today and, being the procrastinator that I am, I had to carve the pumpkin really quickly before dinner. Audrey helped by playing in the bowl of pumpkin innards and occasionally scooping some of them back into the pumpkin.
Audrey wasn't very into trick-or-treating. We went to two houses, and on our way to go visit our neighbors Ed and Judy, they came driving up in their golf cart with their granddaughters. We hopped on the back and hit one more house with them, then, as the little girls were at our house, Audrey ran in the door and wouldn't come back out. We made it to three whole houses! All of our photos were taken at our house, so we don't have any shots of Audrey in action.

We only had the doorbell ring about 10 times. There seems to be less and less kids each year. I guess all of the neighborhood kids are growing up. After eating some of her loot and wrestling with Mommy and Daddy, Audrey just finally went to bed (it's 9:30). I have a cake in the oven for a neighborhood fall festival tomorrow, then we're off to some friends house to watch the Georgia vs. Florida game. Go Dawgs!

Here are the rest of the ladybug pictures:

NKOTB!!

Although no one but probably Amanda will enjoy or read this blog entry, I had such a great time at the New Kids On The Block concert that I wanted to record it on my blog. Someday, Audrey and Baby 2 can read all about what a nut their Mommy was!

The concert was awesome!! We were sitting on the side of the auditorium, about half way down and at the front row next to the floor seating. We had noticed something across from us that kind of looked like part of the sound board, but Amanda had heard that there might be a second stage in the audience. Sure enough, about half way through, the lights went down while the guys changed clothes. I looked over and said "I think I see a piano over there!" An usher then walks up to me and asks me if I have a camera (which I am now kicking myself for not bringing). I told him no and he said that the New Kids are going to perform on that stage and then walk down the aisle right in front of our seats!

They did three songs on the small, rotating stage, including one of my favorites, Tonight. Afterwards, they walk down the aisle back to the stage. I had my phone out to snap pictures, then I thought "Screw it - I want to try to touch all of them!" Danny and Jon came down first. They only had one body guard each b/c they really aren't the popular ones. Really, they didn't do much at all, especially poor Jon who was mostly backup vocals. I got both of their hands. Then, the three popular ones (Jordan, Donnie and my favorite, Joey) came down surrounded by body guards. I got Jordan and Donnie by the shirt and grabbed Joey's arm!

It was so much fun to go out and act stupid for the evening. My ears were ringing when we left and my back and legs are sore today from standing so long. Hopefully Baby Girl won't have any hearing loss when she comes out! For a bunch of 40 year olds, they put on a great show.

Here are some of the photos from the phone. You can see how close they were to us!
The first one is Jon, Jordan and Danny, next is Joey and Donnie, third is Donnie and Jon, and then I got Jordan, Danny and Joey!

Birthday Party Weekend

Audrey was a party girl this weekend! On Saturday afternoon, she went to her buddy Emma's party. Emma's Mommy borrowed Aunt Tina's bouncy house and Audrey recognized it as soon as it started inflating. She spent a good deal of time jumping around like a maniac.

Her friend Jackson, who used to live across the street, showed up a little late to the party. As soon as Audrey saw him, she ran over, grabbed a party favor bag, and brought it to him. She's such a good hostess!

The only time she acted up at the party was when she saw the birthday cake. She made a bee line for it with her arms out and didn't quite understand why she had to wait to get a piece. The girl likes her cake!

I didn't have my camera, so here are a couple of pictures that I borrowed from Emma's blog. Here is the birthday girl with all of her loot:

Here is Audrey trying to steal food from Mommy's plate. Seriously, does she not know that I'm pregnant?? She's lucky that she's so cute, so I'll share my food with her.

On Sunday morning, we picked up Grandma Carol and went shopping with the intentions of buying a winter coat. We ended up with about four bags of clothes for Audrey and found a winter coat at the very last stop!

After we dropped Grandma Carol off, we headed over to the Farbotko side to celebrate Aunt Stephanie's birthday. Grandma Mary had four more outfits for Audrey - is she spoiled or what? I wish people bought me bags and bags of clothes!

Audrey had a little more patience while waiting for a piece of Aunt Steph's cake. After cake, Audrey and Ian were on sugar highs and were chasing each other through the house. At one point, Audrey wanted her shirt off. After her top came off, she put her hands over her chest and danced and laughed... I think we have a little stripper in the making. ;)

Prison Break!

Audrey escaped from her room for the first time early this morning. I heard a little "Mommy?" over the monitor, then I didn't hear anything else so I went back to sleep. A few minutes later, I feel this soft touch on my back, which I assumed was a cat jumping on the bed, so I didn't turn over to look. Then, I hear a little runny nose sniffle, so I turned around and there is Audrey standing by the bed. It was a little startling! I must not have shut her door all the way last night b/c her door handle is kind of stiff. I guess it's time to put the door knob covers on just in case!

Luckily for me, she came into our room 2 minutes before my alarm went off, so I didn't loose any sleep. Poor Andy is off work today, so he had the pleasure of getting up at 6:30ish instead of sleeping in a little bit.

Here is a picture of Audrey at Kroger that I took with my phone. Only the cool kids wear Daddy's sunglasses while grocery shopping!

This is what happens when Daddy is in charge...

At least Audrey had fun and Hazel finally got a bath. Hopefully stinky Roscoe gets to bathe with her tomorrow night!

Here is Audrey (and Puppy of course) post-bath in her cute monkey jammies:

Nap Time

Here is Audrey napping in her toddler bed. She didn't fall asleep for an hour, but she never left the bed! She'll climb on and off of the bed while in her room playing, but it hasn't dawned on her yet that she can get out when she is going to sleep or waking up.

Notice her pillow.

The Great Pumpkin

We have had a busy few days. On Thursday, I took Audrey to her first story time at the library. I was very impressed that she sat by me the whole time and was quiet! She didn't pay a whole bunch of attention to the books, but in her defense, they weren't very good. I was going to take a nap with her when we got home, but she decided not to nap that day. By the time Andy got home from work, we were both so cranky and overtired that he walked in on the two of us crying in the kitchen. Poor Andy will soon have three crazy women in the house!

On Friday, Andy took the front railing off of Audrey's crib to convert it into a toddler day bed. She slept great in it last night and when she woke up this morning, she just sat in bed until I came in to get her. She did roll out after nap time today and she was sitting on the floor in a daze when I ran into her room!
While at the grocery store on Friday evening, Andy bought a Time Life animal pictoral magazine that was at the checkout counter. Audrey has been obsessed with it ever since. She'll ask for her animal book and flip through and either name the animal or ask what it is. The kid is amazing with her animals. She knows random ones like caribou, squid, geckos and wombats!

Today we took our yearly trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. After Audrey learned that she could not sit on the big pumpkins, she had a good time running around. She was so proud of a baby pumpkin that she picked out!

Here are a few more shots from the day. I couldn't get a good shot of her b/c she never stands still and I realized when we got home that I didn't have a good one of poor Tyler, but he was there too! Here is Audrey sitting on the tractor, which she did not like:

Here is Ryan being Ryan by playing with Uncle Mike's very expensive looking camera:

Here is Jack, whose hair really looked red next to all of the pumpkins:

And here is Franken-Ian!

The Roof, The Roof...

We got a new roof put on yesterday, and although I didn't think it would make much of a difference, I think it makes the house look nice! We had light brown, faded shingles before, and we had them put on dark grey architectural shingles. The darker color looks better with the brick.

Audrey has been busy talking up a storm and making messes everywhere she goes. Her new favorite phrase is "Oh my goodness!" She even says it in the right context with the right inflection in her voice. If Andy is tickling her, she says it in a silly voice; if she walks in on me puking, she says it in a sympathetic voice. :)

She is also noticing my belly more now that it is getting bigger. She'll usually tell you that there's a baby in there if prompted, but last night she walked up, pulled my shirt up, pointed, and said "Baby!" I told her to give the baby a kiss and she gave my belly a kiss. Unfortunately Audrey kisses usually involve head butts, but that's okay! This isn't the best belly shot, but since my butt is growing in proportion with my belly, this is the only one I'm willing to post!

Here is her latest art project from daycare. I'm starting to wonder about her teacher since I'm pretty sure two of those vegetables are not pumpkins!

We go to Burt's Pumpkin Farm on Saturday with all four cousins, so we should have some great pictures to post this weekend! Here is a picture of Audrey taking puppy for a ride to tide you over! I like how she placed him so he can see out!

Sugar And Spice Part 2 - It's A Girl!!

Or, Baby Girl Farbotko Version 2.0 as Andy calls her! The baby looked perfect, healthy and very wiggly. We are very excited to be welcoming a little sister for Audrey in February. I am so happy that Audrey will have a sister to grow up with and play dolls with. :)

Not Quite Picasso Either...

I am already starting to feel bad for whomever Audrey marries. We went to Andy's softball game last night and she was trying to get a 2 1/2 year old boy to play with her. She kept walking up to him and saying "Hi boy! Come on boy." Then she'd take his hand and drag him over to the dirt pile that she was playing in. He didn't want to play in the dirt, so he kept yelling "No, I'm running away from you!" Audrey would just chase him down and drag him back. I tried explaining to her that some guys don't like aggressive women, but that didn't stop her!

She also had me laughing tonight when she was looking at the fish tank (again) and asking "Where's the sea horse?" I finally told her that we don't have a sea horse, so she sat there for a minute, then asked "Where's the shark?" She thinks we have a way cooler salt water tank than we actually have! She also bumped her head on the tank, which startled the (uncool) fish, and she said "Excuse me fishies. Sorry!" The stuff she comes up with kills me sometimes. :)

Audrey's buddy Emma really enjoyed an art class that she took, so that inspired me to stop by Joann Fabric and see if they had any crafts that Audrey and I could do at home. I bought a kit that has pre-cut foam that you glue into whatever pattern that you buy. I figured I could put the glue on and show her where to attach each piece. This is what it is supposed to look like:

It started out with Audrey getting mad when we opened the package and the ladybug was not already put together. She took the package and threw it, so we immediately lost an eye and a leg. Then, she ate the nose. I tried to get her to put the spots on one of the wings and she stuck some spots and the eye on it. I figured we'd end up with just a decorated wing, but after a couple of minutes, she pulled everything off, so this is our final product, a wing with an eye on it:

She did bring this home from daycare yesterday, and I'm proud of how well she stayed in the lines with the paint! Maybe there is some hope for her after all!
