Sorry for the lack of posts, but I have been battling some kind of sinus infection/sore throat/every-part-of-my-body-aches kind of bug. My doc gave me some antibiotics on Friday, but I am taking myself off of them because they are making me sicker than anything. If your doctor ever prescribes a Z-Pac, just say no!!
Andy deserves a medal for stepping up and handling our busy weekend. Last week started off with Bridget wanting to walk the puppy. They walk pretty well together now, but she only has a couple more months before Amos starts dragging her down the street!
On a side note, Bridget has been using lots of little sentences lately, like "Where did Audrey go?" and "Daddy, puppy bit my toes." She is becoming such a big girl!
I thought I was feeling better on Saturday, so I took Audrey to ballet/tap. This was the final class of this session and the teacher brought some old recital costumes and let them dress up. I saw a red one and thought Audrey would pick that, but she found one that had multicolored ribbons and told me that she was dressed as a rainbow. When we left, she told her teacher "I like your rainbow dress." I think she was secretly hoping that Miss Jessica would give it to her!
Here is a quick video that I shot through the door. I love how Audrey has to go over and dance by the mirror!
I felt like crap by the time we got home from dance class, so Andy took Audrey to her buddy Emma's birthday party while Bridget and I napped. Audrey had a great time and even brought her sister home a crown that she had decorated for her. Bridget wore it around saying "Yee haw!"
I missed our annual Burt's Pumpkin Farm trip due to my stupid illness. This year they went to Jason's aunt's cabin in Ellijay and cooked out afterwards. It sounded like everyone had a good time while I layed around the house feeling sorry for myself. :)
Here is a link to the Burt's pictures. The cool pumpkin photos were taken by Audrey!

Amos

Amos had a busy day getting to know his new family and yard yesterday. He was all over poor Bridget - he kept pulling at her pants and diaper. She wasn't too fond of that! He also took his first trip to Petco when we realized that we did not have any dog toys since we have a dog who only likes to play fetch!
Every time we took him out front, Audrey would tap him on the head and yell "Tag, you're it!" and run off. Sometimes he followed, sometimes he just watched her like she was crazy. Look at poor Hazel in the background waiting for someone to PLEASE THROW THE BALL!!
I can tell that the breeder spoiled him. He cries if you leave the room and he sleeps best like this:
He does not like being put in his kennel at all, so he has spent his first two nights in our bed.
At least someone likes the kennel. I told Bridget to go in there and go night-night and she went and layed down. I had to pull her out because I think she really wanted to sleep in there!
Today, poor Mom gets to babysit AND puppy sit. I am taking him to the vet today to make sure he is healthy and tomorrow will be his first day in his kennel while we work. I have a feeling he will by crying all day. :(

New Addition
We would like to introduce the newest member of our family, Amos!
I have had puppy fever for a while and the bug finally hit Andy. He was looking at basset breeders online and found one in North Carolina that had 2 puppies from a litter left. He emailed the breeder on Friday and discovered that she was going to be a couple of hours away today and... long story short, we have a new puppy!
They got home around 7:30 and I brought the girls out front. They were SO excited. The first thing Audrey said was "He looks like Roscoe!"
Amos and Bridget hit it off right away. They followed each other around all evening and Bridget hugged him every chance she got.
Unfortunately, Hazel isn't too fond of the little fellow yet. She growls every time he gets near her. Avalanche briefly met him, hissed and ran off. Spot hasn't met him yet, but I think she will have the same reaction that Avalanche did.
He had a fun night exploring his new home and is now sound asleep on the couch. Audrey made sure to cover him up in the baby blanket that the breeder sent with him.

Puppy
I just had to hop on real quick to announce that after sleeping with Puppy under her arm since she was 6 months old, Audrey has finally given Puppy a real name. Her name is....
Nora!
I'm not sure where that name came from, but a couple of weeks ago she starting calling her puppy Nora and pretending that she was a pet guinea pig. At first, she said that Nora was the puppy's name only when she was a guinea pig, but then Puppy became Nora full time! :)

Cumming Country Fair
Last night, we were supposed to have a family campout in the backyard, but I had to come into the house at 11 because I got some random stomach bug or food poisoning and had to barf up my dinner (TMI, I know) and then Bridget's diaper leaked a couple of hours later, so Andy brought her in to sleep with me. Here is Audrey when she came in this morning:
We have lived in Cumming for 7 1/2 years and we have never been to the Cumming Country Fair so we decided to check it out this year. Tina and her family had planned on going up today too, so we ended up meeting up with them. Grandma and Papa stopped in for a little while because it was free senior citizen day - ha ha! :)
Audrey didn't want to do any of the rides or games. The face painting line was short when we first got there, but she didn't want to do that until later when the line was really long, so we told her that they were closed.
Bridget really enjoyed the petting zoo. She and Daddy fed the little goats, a camel, a llama and a turkey. Audrey didn't want to touch anything during the first walk through, but when we went again with the boys, she was a little braver and fed the camel.
Both girls enjoyed the bear show and the Frisbee dog show. Audrey even got a "pawtographed" Frisbee and posed for a picture with the guy who trained the 2010 Frisbee dog champ (doesn't she look thrilled)!
We didn't get to eat as much fair food as I would have liked. I thought I had plenty of money but by the time we paid parking, tickets, two drinks and a funnel cake, I had $5 left! All in all, we had a good time, but I think it will be a little more enjoyable when the girls are old enough to want to do some of the games and rides.

Ouchie
Ever since Bridget was big enough to grasp stuff in her hands, that stuff has gone straight to her mouth. At daycare, she has to sit next to the teacher during craft time because she is a craft eater, and her teacher says she is always telling B to stop eating dirt on the playground. Last Monday, Miss Nikki said that Bridget was sitting on the playground with her cheeks all puffed out and she pulled some acorns out.
Luckily, she has never choked on anything, but on Friday, I got a call from daycare. Bridget was running with a Lego in her mouth, fell and ripped that little piece of skin that connects the top lip to the gums. I called her doctor who said that there is nothing that can be done for that and the daycare director said that she wasn't acting like it bothered her, so I didn't go pick her up but I felt so bad for her all day. I was expecting the inside of her lip to look all raw and red, but it doesn't. There's just a rip in her skin. :(
Audrey was acting kind of sad and pouty the other night after Bridget went to bed. I asked her what was wrong and she said that she didn't want Bridget to grow up into a big kid. When I asked why not, she said that she wanted Bridget to always be her baby sister. It was so sweet!

Slugs and Snakes
We haven't been up to a whole lot around the Farbotko household. The weather is beautiful, so we have been spending a lot of time playing outside. I was trying to get a picture of Audrey's cute "Mom's BFF 4 Ever" shirt here, but she was pouting because Daddy wouldn't stop what he was doing and twirl her around:
Bridget looks like she is licking her lips at a bunch of grubs that Andy found, but she is really licking snot off of her face. I don't know which is worse!
Bridget's newest phrase is "I'm a meh" (mess). Whenever her hands are dirty, she walks up with them outstretched saying "I'm a meh!"

Andy also found a small snake in the backyard and Bridget was SO excited. She kept pointing at it and exclaiming "A nake! a nake!!" When we asked her what a snake says, she said "nake nake." When she's not sure what sound an animal makes, her typical response is to just repeat the animal's name quickly and high pitched. A mouse says "mou mou" and a ladybug says "laybuh laybuh."

She is also obsessed with brushing her teeth. She will go into the bathroom, point to the counter and say "bruh?" I will put a tiny dab of toothpaste on her toothbrush and she goes and sits on my bed and brushes away... well, mostly just chews on the toothbrush, but close enough! She found an electric Ariel toothbrush that we got Audrey and Audrey hates it, so she was walking around with that the other day. A salesperson came to the door and Bridget stood there the whole time I was talking with her electric toothbrush just buzzing away. The sales lady said that her little sister used to be obsessed with brushing her teeth too, and now she is a dental hygienist, so maybe dental school is in Bridget's future!
I found some more pictures that Audrey took while scrolling through my phone. She figured out how to frame and save pictures through a Disney app that I have on my phone.
Audrey has Pajama Day in her class at daycare on Friday, so I went out and bought her some new jammies this week. I really should take her shopping with me because she doesn't like either pair, but too bad! I'm curious if she will even wear a pair of jammies to school. At first she said "You don't wear jammies to school!" but now she is excited for Pajama Day, so we shall see!
