8 Months Old

Little Bridget is 8 months old today! She loves Fruit Puffs and Cheerios and is a little pickier with her baby food than big sis was. She is still my quiet little sweet heart and is still a bad sleeper. :) Lucky for her, the upstairs furnace went out (again) and until the HVAC company can order the part it needs, she gets to sleep snuggled up in Mommy's bed. She sleeps great with me, but needs to learn to sleep in her own bed without waking up every couple of hours.

Here is Audrey at 8 months:

Bridget doesn't seem anywhere near crawling yet, but then again, when I looked back at the blog when Audrey started crawling, she went from not crawling to crawling to pulling up on furniture in a week (I also just noticed that Audrey had problems going to bed at this age too - maybe it's not just Bridget but an age thing). As big of a milestone as crawling is, I am kind of dreading it because I will have to re-baby proof and Audrey and I will have to be better at picking up. Bridget sticks everything in her mouth, so we will have to be on the lookout for small objects!
Here are a couple of cute photos to leave you with. The first one was taken by Grandma Mary when she was babysitting last week. Apparently, B was a little tired during snack time and just passed out in her chair! The second one is of my green eyed beauty!

Blowing Raspberries

Bridget is the raspberry blowing queen. She does it when she's happy, she does it when she's mad, she does it when she wakes up in the morning... you get the picture! I finally got it on film with my phone this evening... so behold, the raspberry blowing styling of Bridget.

As I am typing this post, Audrey is telling her Daddy that she wants to marry a prince and asking her Daddy to dance with her. So sweet!

I painted her toenails orange and green for Halloween the other night. I love having girls! :)

Pumpkin Farm

Yesterday brought our annual trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. The forecast said it was supposed to be rainy, but we took the risk and it turned out great. There were not a lot of people there and it didn't start raining until about the time when we were done. It was probably the warmest it had ever been up there too, which was nice!

There are too many cute pictures to post, so you check out the rest here:

No Sense of Style

Audrey is very into picking out her own clothes lately. Unfortunately, she has horrible taste. Or she is extremely fashionable and ahead of the times.

Here she is helping Daddy with yardwork in leopard print pants, a tutu and purple latex gloves:
This is a nice pink and brown polka dot jammie top, Halloween tights and red and black tutu:
And a Halloween top, pink striped pants, red glittery shoes and pink butterfly wings:

On the potty training front, she has been doing very well except for the past week. She is great when we go out and run errands, but has been having accident after accident at home. I don't know what the deal is. Here is a conversation from last night:
Niki: "What are you doing upstairs?"
Audrey: "Peeing on your bed."
And she was!! She totally knows when she has to go, but lately it's like she doesn't care.

I mentioned in a previous post that my girls like my iPhone but would never own one like their cousins... well... things have changed! Because of all of my hard work, my boss paid to have my phone upgraded to the 3G S, which is awesome (voice prompts - need I say more?). I took my old iPhone and loaded all of Audrey's kid CD's and some free toddler games onto it. Audrey hasn't quite grasped the concept that it is hers yet, but she loves the games, especially an animal memory game.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Work I Go

Sorry for the lack of updates. I had to go into work six days last week (many of them about 9+ hours), Bridget got a double ear infection and then other pesky issues arose, like dogs with fleas and ants in the kitchen.

I finally told my boss that unless he hired a maid service to come out to my house, I would not be in today. Of course, in between laundry and finally cleaning out the pantry to deter the ants, I am on the computer... working. When you work for a disaster restoration company and Atlanta gets the worst flooding in years, it's a little crazy!

In quick kid updates, we finally started sending Audrey to daycare in her undies and she's doing pretty well. She has only had one accident per day, usually at nap time.

Poor Bridget had a 103 fever at daycare on Tuesday and even though she wasn't feeling well all week, she was a trooper! She can clench those gums shut surprisingly tight, so giving her the antibiotic is a challenge. She has been working on getting fruit puffs in her mouth by herself and is pretty good at it. It's nice because I can sit her in the highchair and she is occupied for a while trying to pick them up and eat them. It always looks like she is eating a lot of them, then when I pick her up there are ten that had missed her mouth and fallen into the chair!

Back to work!

7 Months Old

It's hard to believe that Bridget is 7 months old today! Here is her official portrait:

And in comparison, here is Audrey's:

Mom and I went to Target yesterday and they had their Disney Princess costumes for much cheaper than I've seen online. We got Audrey the Ariel costume (she goes back and forth between wanting to be Ariel and Abby Cadabby) and the matching wig. As soon as we got home, she wanted to put the wig on. She walked around the house all night saying "I look so pretty. Look at how pretty I am!"

I made her take it off for bed, but as soon as she got up this morning, she came downstairs with it in her hand saying "Put on my Ariel hair!" She also wanted lipstick - we are in for it when she is a pre-teen! She has been wearing the poor, now ratty wig all day, and this is how I found her a few minutes ago when I got home from Walmart:

I guess Ariel had a rough day!

And finally, here is a link to some pictures of the girls at a local neighborhood park. These were taken by a friend from grade school who I reconnected with on Facebook. I think they turned out pretty darn cute!

Football and Fish

I've been a bad blog updater, but we've been busy! And then when I am at home, it's non stop laundry, dishes, picking up 1,463 tiny toys, etc.

Andy's birthday always falls on the weekend of the Georgia v. South Carolina game, so for the third year in a row, we had both families come up to celebrate and watch the game. Here are the girls in their game gear: (Photo disclaimer: for some reason, I suck at using my digital camra lately. My pictures always come out too bright and slightly out of focus. I have it on the autofocus feature - any suggestions?)

And here is the worst football game in history:

Miss Bridget, who recently had tooth #2 pop out, had her first sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa F's on Tuesday night. I was a nervous wreck about it because she is not a good sleeper and usually goes to bed best for Mommy, but she did great. She even came home on Wednesday with a new trick:

Audrey has been asking to go to the aquarium for months, so Andy finally took a morning off of work and we went. The last time Andy and I went was right after it opened and it was miserably crowded. Today, there was hardly anybody there, so it was nice! I asked Audrey what she was most excited to see before we left and her answer was "Hmmm... the blue water!"

We both really liked the beluga whales and the whale sharks. The aquarium has a program where you can swim in the whale shark tank, which I think sounds so cool but in reality I would probably have a massive heart attack if one of the sharks got anywhere close! I can't wait until the new dolphin exhibit opens next year. I think I liked the aquarium more than Audrey - maybe I missed my calling as a marine biologist!
