Dinner with Emma

Audrey and Emma decided that they wanted to get together for dinner, so even with Audrey's yucky rash, we met up at Cinco in Vickery Village. There is a courtyard outside of the restaurant that they played in after dinner. Audrey enjoyed picking the rocks up, dropping them, and trying to eat them - I think she got a few in. Emma wasn't so sure about it...

As it got darker, they (I'm not really sure who 'they' are) put up this big inflatable screen and were playing videos. "They" also had glow in the dark bracelets. Emma's daddy got her one and she really liked it!

Here is Audrey being swung around by her daddy. If you click back and forth really fast between the pictures, you will get the whole effect!

Her rash is still here. It was really bad when she woke up this morning and I was almost in tears thinking about having to leave her at daycare looking like that. I gave her two doses of benadryl yesterday but they didn't seem to do a thing. The rash was a little better this evening but if it still looks bad tomorrow, I may call the nurse advice line again and see if there is anything else I can do.

Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath

This is what happens when Daddy is in charge of bathtime.

You get Alfalfa hair...

Then you get a funky mohawk:

Then it gets parted in the middle because Daddy thinks you need a new hairdo:

We have our first food reaction rash today. I noticed some little bumps on her cheeks last night and when she woke up, they were all over her body. They look like hives, but they don't itch. I tried strawberries out this week (which Grandma F is allergic to) and I think that's the culprit. The nurse at the pediatrician's office made me feel like a dummy. I told her that strawberries were the only new food she's had and she said "Is there anyone in your family that's allergic to them?" "Yes." "Plus, you know you're not supposed to give them strawberries until they are 2 or 3, right?" "No."

So, for those of you reading, don't give anyone under 2 strawberries! I looked on a baby food site (http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ - great site!) and it said that strawberries are very acidic and may provoke a rash in babies even without food allergies.
In much happier news, I think we are going to be walking soon! Audrey has been taking about two or three little steps and is so proud of herself! Her record the other day was four steps before she lost her balance.

Reputation

Yesterday Grandma H. and I took Audrey shopping for some fall/winter clothes. A lady next to us in the sippy cup aisle turned and said, "Oh, that's Audrey isn't it?" I said "Yes..." and she said "My son is in her class at the daycare center. She's the one that's always eating." She works close to the daycare and eats lunch there with her little boy and said that she watches Audrey eat and eat! I told you she was a pig - random people know her as the kid who eats all the time!

Audrey likes to sit in her little crawl through tunnel and under anything she can fit under, so Grandma bought her a Disney Princess play tent. She loved it when I put it together this morning, but there is no support on the bottom, so it just flops over. We're going to have to return it and find something a little more steady. This is her peeking out of the door. She had her puppy shirt on because we all went to the dog park this morning. She had a blast watching all of the dogs and she got lots of kisses! I brought my camera but of course I left it in the car.

We are currently trying to teach Audrey the concept of "no," but it's not going so well. She'll usually stop what she's doing but it's only because she's distracted by your voice. Last night she was banging Andy's wireless mouse on the coffee table and he kept telling her "no." He tried to be Big Tough Daddy by yelling no and rushing at her to grab the mouse and she laughed louder than I've ever heard her laugh! Andy can't even intimidate a baby girl! ;)

The above picture is Sleepy Audrey first thing in the morning. She was trying to hold her bottle while still cuddling her puppy.

9 Month Checkup

Audrey had her 9 month checkup this morning. She weighed 18 lbs, 7 1/4 oz (50th percentile) and was 28 1/2 inches long (75th percentile). She's had a snotty nose for a few days that I just attributed to daycare, but it turns out that she also has an ear infection, which explains why she's been so fussy lately. She likes the amoxicillan - she thought it was funny that I was shooting some tasty liquid in her mouth with the dropper.

We had to see a different doctor today because her usual pediatrician just had a baby. I really liked the new doctor. Audrey had a little doll with her, so the doc would check out the doll before she'd look at Audrey. She said that it's actually a good idea to start bringing a doll to her doctor appointments because if Audrey sees the doc checking out the doll, it won't be so scary for her to get checked out. I thought that was pretty cute!

There's not much else new going on at the Farbotko house. Grandma F. just left for Vegas because Audrey's great grandma is in the hospital and not doing too well, so please keep her in your thoughts for us.

...And on his farm he had a pig...

When I picked Audrey up from daycare today, the girl in the baby room, Stephanie, was telling me how astounded she is at the amount of food that my skinny baby can pack away (Grandpa H. calls her the bottomless pit). Here is the list of what the little piggy ate today at daycare to show you just how much she can eat:

Breakfast: 3 oz. of formula, a couple bites of cereal and a half of a waffle at home

Breakfast Part 2: Cheerios and a cereal bar

Snacks: Goldfish crackers, a jar of applesauce and 1 1/2 bottles of formula

Lunch: pears, peas, carrots, corn and pizza!

I guess she was so hungry they gave her the big kid lunch - she's never had pizza and corn but I guess she liked them! Stephanie was also telling me that Audrey cries whenever she leaves the room (I'm glad that Audrey has found someone that she really likes) and that she's been singing E-I-E-I-O a lot for them. She also likes to look at herself in the mirror, but we knew that.

This is a picture of all of the Game Night gals. Jennifer moved to Charlotte today, so we took her out for a bite to eat and some drinks on Wednesday night. Audrey is going to miss her little buddies and we'll miss their parents!

Birthday Saturday

Audrey had a busy day yesterday. In the morning, she went over to her friend Jackson's house for his first birthday. She had fun playing with his toys and watching the other kids run around.

There were some other moms there discussing how their kids never had sweets until their first birthday when they had their smash cake. While they are discussing this, I look over and Audrey is chowing down on cake and ice cream with her daddy! A little cake now and then doesn't hurt!

Later, everyone came up to celebrate Andy's 30th birthday. It was also game day, so all of the kids had their Georgia gear on. It was quite an effort to get a photo of everyone. This shot is the best, although Jack isn't in it.

Here's one of Jack so he doesn't feel left out:

And here are the rest so you can see what we had to go through to get these:

Bibbity Bobbity Boo!

Audrey has had a busy few days. She received her first accident report from daycare on Friday. They have a mirror mounted on the wall with a bar attached to it (kind of like a ballet bar). She pulled up to look at herself, let go to clap, then fell and hit her head on the bar. When you're that cute, you have to clap at yourself sometimes!

On Saturday, we went shopping (where she got the new Adidas in the photo below), then played outside for a while because there was finally a nice breeze. She also watched a little of the first Georgia game of the season with her Uga that she got in Athens.

Grandma and Papa came up for Labor Day and Audrey had a fairy princess photo shoot!

Here are the rest of the pictures:

Thanks to Grandma H. for the princess get-up and to Emma for lending us the cute little outfit when she outgrew it!

She also showed off her new skill, which is saying "uh oh." She doesn't quite get the concept of when to say it yet, but she says it! I also swear she said E-I-E-I-O a couple of times tonight. After her bath, she was babbling E-I-E-I-E-I, so I started saying E-I-E-I-O, and she repeated it. Of course when I went to show Daddy, she just said E-O.

This weekend, she has a birthday party for her friend Jackson followed by all of the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins coming over to celebrate Daddy's birthday. He turns the big 3-0 on the 11th!
