Happy Easter!

The neighborhood egg hunt was a success (and a little chaotic but I don't think most people noticed)! Although there was supposed to be 4 of us setting up, only one volunteer showed up. I only got half of the decorations that I bought out and we were still setting out eggs at 2 when people started showing up, so we had other parents out scattering eggs. After all that prep, all 1,000 eggs were found within minutes!

Audrey stood by the baby area and stared at the eggs while a little boy of about 3 filled her basket for her. She's already got boys doing stuff for her! She was a little clingy at first, then she started running around and exploring.

The Easter Bunny was a little late and a lot of the kids had already left, but there was still about 15 kids there when she arrived. Audrey loved her! She kept bringing the bunny these giant decorative Easter eggs (which she played with throughout the entire Easter story that the bunny read). We had the bunny hold her for a picture and later, Audrey ran up to her and wanted to be picked up.

Afterwards, she opened her gifts from Grandma and Papa and sampled a little of the Easter dinner. The cake was a big hit, although I'm worried that her sweet little dress might have stains from the green icing!

Here are all of the pictures from Saturday:

On Sunday, the Easter bunny left Audrey a basket by her crib. I didn't think she'd notice it, but as soon as I lifted her up, she saw it and leaned down to go get it! Later, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa F's where Uncle Alex showed up in his 99 cent Easter bunny costume! Lucky had to jump up on the couch to get in the pictures too!

Audrey had fun playing with her new bubble mower and she even showed Ian how to use his new toy, although he was quite the pro at pushing it even though he can't walk yet!

Here are Sunday's pictures:

In other cute news (if anyone is still reading!), now, instead of just telling the dogs "No, no," she tells them "Uh Uh, No!" She's also called Elmo "La La" a couple of times (from his theme song).

Audrey is also going to try out for American Idol next year. She is always singing to herself, and she even sings some baby babble to the tune of the Barney song (I love you, you love me...) and to Frere Jacques. I'll have to try to catch it on video soon.

A Woman of Few Words

Audrey has been trying to say a lot more lately and it's really cute! Among her "words:"
  • "Dah Doo" or "Tah Too" = Thank You. This is usually said when she is handing you something.

  • "Dee" = Fish. I'm not sure how these words are even close, but whenever she sees a fish, she yells "Dee!" She was pointing to her goldfish crackers and calling them dee also.

  • "No No!" She walks up to the dogs and yells "no no" to them. Can you tell what she hears Mommy saying to the doggies all day? She yelled at poor Gracie across the street who was just minding her own business the other day too!

  • "Ooh ooh, Ahh ahh" = Monkey noises. She makes these noises whenever she sees a picture of a monkey. She also says "wuff wuff" when the dogs are barking.

  • "Shoe" Audrey has a very new shoe obsession. When Grandma H and I took her to Target last weekend, we bought her 3 pairs of shoes 'cause they were so darn cute. When we got home, she took all 3 pairs out of the bag and was walking around with them. Just this morning she pointed to a pair and said "shoe" for the first time! Also, if she sees her Adidas, she will bring them to you so you can put them on for her. She likes to clomp around in them! The last time Grandma and Papa were over, she was playing chase w/Grandma and saw her shoes. She brought them over to Papa to put them on her, then continued running from Grandma. That's definitely something else she got from Daddy since I would prefer to go barefoot. ;)
  • She says "Bah Boo" a lot and I think I may have figured out what it means. She tends to say it while she's standing on a table or chair, and when she does this, I say "Careful." She says bah boo in the same tone that I say careful in!

Last week, Audrey left Puppy at Grandma and Grandpa F.'s and she slept horribly all week. When she'd wake in the middle of the night, she'd be looking around in her crib. It was pitiful. We stuck about 5 other stuffed animals in there, but none of them would do. We had a couple of nights where we had to play Mean Mommy and Daddy and just had to turn the monitor down and let her cry it out (although Daddy is a big 'ol softy and wouldn't let her cry as long as I would).

She was reunited with Puppy yesterday and I'm happy to report that she slept through the night! In fact, she slept so well that she didn't get up until almost 9 am!

We have a busy weekend ahead of us. I like to punish myself, so I volunteered to coordinate the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. There are going to be 44 kids attending (so far), so it should be lots of fun! Grandma and Papa are coming to watch Audrey's first egg hunt and stay for dinner, then we are going to the Farbotko side on Sunday. I'm sure we'll have lots of cute new pictures!

15 Month Checkup

Miss Audrey had her 15 month checkup today and was declared perfect! She's still in the 50th percentile for weight but has shot up to the 90-95th % for height. After watching Audrey go through the cabinets (why don't pediatrician offices have baby locks?), climb on a chair, bang on the door and play with the door stop, the nurse said "Well, I guess I don't have to ask about her activity level."

Audrey only got one shot today, which she took like a champ again. She was supposed to get two shots, but there is a shortage on the second one. The pediatrician just said "Hopefully we'll have it by her 18 month appointment." I asked which shot it was that was so unimportant that "maybe we'll have it in 3 months" and it's for some kind of bacterial infection that used to cause a lot of serious illnesses. She said that Audrey's already had 3 boosters of it, so she should be okay. Very reassuring!

In other news, Audrey has been doing well with drinking milk out of a sippy cup, so I packed up all of her bottles this morning. On one hand, I'm happy to have the extra cabinet space back, but on the other hand it makes me a little sad that my baby is growing up so fast! It seems like she went straight from being born to being a toddler; that little cuddly helpless baby stage just zipped on by! I sent an empty bottle to daycare yesterday just in case she saw the other kids w/bottles and freaked out, but they said she did well without it. It was so cute seeing all of the little kids in their green for St. Patty's Day yesterday!

Since 100% of the voters on the blog (thanks Amanda) chose the jungle set, that one wins! We went to Target over the weekend and there was a cute sea animal set, but it didn't have as many accessories. Now that I've found the set, I need to start taking down the wallpaper. This should be interesting!

I don't have any new pictures to post, so here's another one of Audrey in her Cubbies hat. We'll have to get her a St. Louis Cardinals hat soon!

Please Help Me Decide!

Andy told me that I needed to get a hobby when I was complaining about not having enough "me" time the other night. Instead, I decided to take on a project - I am going to redo Audrey's bathroom. There is nothing really wrong with it. The wallpaper isn't horrible and the shower curtain is pretty, but I decided to make it more kid friendly.

I really wanted to do ladybugs, but Andy vetoed that saying it would look too girly should we have a boy one day. So, now I think I have it narrowed down to two.

This jungle theme from Target has the cutest accessories to go with it:

Or a cute frog fishing:

Which do you like better?

World's Cutest Cubs Fan

Andy bought this little tiny Cubs hat before Audrey even existed. He found it in his closet this morning. Does that show you how often we clean out the closet?

Video Post for Daddy

Andy wanted me to put this video on the blog because it's too big to email out. This is Audrey peeking through the doggy door in the garage. Please ignore all of the spider webs, it is a garage after all!

Last Tuesday Audrey had her ENT follow up visit. Her tubes were doing fine and her hearing levels are back in the normal range. It was towards the lower end of normal, but that was partly due to the fact that Audrey was talking away and not paying any attention to the sounds coming out of the speakers!

Luckily for me, Audrey was already planning on spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa F. on Thursday night because I ended up shivering in bed with a terrible fever. I had to miss work on Friday and went to the doctor - another sinus infection! This one really kicked my butt. Audrey and Andy have been a little snotty; hopefully they won't get it as bad as I did. I just realized today that I've been overmedicating myself. The very expensive, yet worth every penny drug, Mucinex-D is supposed to be taken twice a day, one tablet. I've been taking two tablets twice a day because I'm so used to the other sinus medications being two tablets at a time. Not only was I wasting money, but I think that's the reason I was sleeping so poorly while I was sick! The main ingredient in Mucinex can be misused as a stimulant. On Thursday, I popped a couple of tablets, then took a Tylenol PM and did not sleep very well!

On Saturday, Grandma and Papa came up for a while, then we headed to the Farbotko's where Audrey got to meet her Great Aunt Barbara and Great Uncle Wayne for the first time. I'll post some pictures once Andy downloads them.

Where's Hazel?

Mmmm... apple sauce! It tastes even better when Mommy lets you feed yourself. Don't forget to wipe some in your hair!

We have had a fun, busy few days. The weather was awesome on Saturday, so we packed up the kiddo and the dogs, grabbed some Publix (sorry Dad) subs, and headed to the Chattahoochee River. Audrey loved watching Hazel fetch in the water. She was pretty mad that we wouldn't let her just walk on in to the water too! Of course, I forgot my camera. I snapped a couple of pictures with my phone but I'm having problems sending them to my email.

On Sunday we went over to Grandma and Grandpa F.'s and she played with Ian and the kids that live across the street. On the way home, we had to stop at Petsmart. Andy's hog nose snake decided that he didn't want to eat frozen mice anymore. He hadn't eaten in a couple of months, so Andy wanted to buy a cheap lizard and frog to see if he's eat them. He made the mistake of telling the associate that they were for food, and she wouldn't sell them to us!

Two stores and an angry Andy later, we had an anole and a tree frog. Andy had to sign a little adoption paper saying that he's take good care of them! Audrey loved the birds at the pet store. She laughed and pointed and talked to them. Too bad she'll never get one of her own!

After we got home, I noticed that the tree frog was really cute, so Andy said that if he's not eaten in a week, I could keep him. Luckily for him and the anole, the snake randomly decided to eat the frozen mouse last night, so I have a new little froggy (the anole is going to be returned to the pet store, although he is kind of cute too). I'm going to ask Tyler to help me name him. He's good with names. He has Goldfish the goldfish and Frog the frog.

When I picked Audrey up from daycare today, she was really fussy. The new girl in the baby room said that she hadn't napped all day. After lunch, they went out to the playground and Audrey fell asleep outside. I'm not sure if the poor thing just layed down on the grass or if someone was holding her, but when they brought her in to the crib, she freaked out and wouldn't go back to sleep. The poor thing is so overtired - Andy put her to bed at 7:30 and at 8:10, she's still in her crib talking to her puppy. I have a feeling it's going to be a long night!

The title of this post refers to Audrey's new favorite phrase. I'm not sure if she's actually saying "Where's Hazel?" but it really sounds like it. It kind of sounds like "There's Hazel," when she sees her and points to her. I'm not sure why she likes Hazel so much more than Roscoe; maybe it's because he's always in her face!
