Picture/Video Post

There's not much new going on at the Farbotko household, so here are some pictures and videos to enjoy!
Here is Audrey and Daddy being silly...

Her buddy Jackson came over to play on Tuesday. She was about to give him a hug, then decided to twirl at the last minute. Jackson has his arms out waiting for his hug - she's such a tease!

Go Dawgs! Audrey was all ready for game day! (I think she has a piece of crayon in her mouth here)

Andy had the great idea of sticking her Finding Nemo movie into the portable DVD player so we could watch the big TV. This is how I found her watching it:

Being cute...

This video is of Audrey playing her Baby Leap Frog game. You push a button and it makes the animals on the TV screen do stuff. Warning: she runs up to the camera and breaks my eardrums at the end! Also, notice Hazel in the backgroung in "her" chair.

Fun Filled Weekend of... Cleaning?

First, before I start complaining, here is a picture of the cutest little baby bunny that I rescued from the house Wednesday night. The poor little thing was so scared that he let me sit and pet him in the front yard before he hopped off.

We spent the weekend cleaning the carpets - yay! To make a long story short, poor Hazel had some kind of GI issue, and instead of waking us up in the middle of the night, she, being the sweetheart that she is, decided to let us sleep while she took care of her tummy problems. I had to throw out a cute throw rug from Audrey's room and she also got the stairs and the living room on Thursday night.

We rented a carpet cleaning machine and while Andy was cleaning carpets Friday night, the wind from Hurricane Fran knocked our patio table off of the porch. Our umbrella broke and the votive holder that I have that wraps around the umbrella shattered. I also got to pick up broken glass in the dark on Friday. Good times.

On the bright side, the carpets needed cleaning anyway and I figured since it's the end of the summer, patio umbrellas should be on clearance soon!

We finished up the carpets on Saturday and headed over to the Farbotko's for Alex's birthday dinner. Here is what Audrey did while we were cleaning - she sat in her chair and watched Nemo:

Since the carpets were so clean and we had to move a bunch of stuff around to clean, we used today to declutter the house. We got rid of stuff like dog toys that haven't been touched in years, figurines that neither of us like, and we also hung pictures and shelves that we've had just sitting in the guest bedroom for years.

I think now that the weather is nice, the house is clean, and GA football season starts next weekend, I need to talk Andy into hosting a cookout for our friends!

Once Bitten, Twice Shy

So, this is how I found my daughter when I picked her up from daycare today:

There is a bite mark under her right eye, top and bottom set of little teeth (I enhanced the color in the picture because it was too washed out. Audrey does not have blue eye shadow on)! Luckily it didn't break the skin, but it's definitley red and will probably bruise up a little more. I may have to go up to the daycare and kick some little toddler's butt! I know kids will do things like that, but I'm also concerned that Audrey will learn about biting others. I'm assuming she didn't bite back, but I'm hoping the kid at least got a good shove!

We have a new obsession in our house - Finding Nemo, or Memo as Audrey calls him. It's always been the movie that she'll pay the most attention to, but for the past couple of days, she'll bring it to me and say "Watch!" Being the lazy parent that I am, I'll usually stick it on so I can get some housework done. At the beginning, when the barracuda is about to eat Nemo's mommy, she'll yell "Shark! Shark!" but Coral never hears her and gets eaten every time! She also yells "Memo! Memo!" when he is getting taken away by the scuba diver.

Audrey also has a new favorite phrase - "What's that?" We hear this ALL day long. If she says it and you are not in the room w/her, she'll just repeat it over and over again until you go and look at what she's pointing to. I guess it's good that she's inquisitive!

She is also becoming quite useful. Last night, Andy finished a bag of pretzels, and she grabbed the empty bag from him and put it in the trash without any prompting!

Cute stuff she's been repeating from us:

- When she puts her shapes in the shape sorter, she'll say "Good job, Audrey!"

- We were naming colors and she was staring at a red circle. I said "Red" to which she replied "Red, that's right" just like I would say to her.

- She dropped a DVD case on my toe and I said "Ow!" She looked up at me and said "You're okay."

This new baby is not a fan of fruit. Whenever I drink apple juice or eat apples or peaches, I get violently sick about 20 minutes later. I found most of my pregnancy books, but I can't find where I stored my baby name books or my Doppler (which is probably good since I would obsess over it after my last visit!). You'd think they would be in the back bedroom which is stacked to the ceiling w/Audrey's old infant stuff, but they aren't. Oh well.

Here are a couple of pictures from my phone to finish off the post:

Stressful 12 Week Checkup

I had my 12 week check up and OB work up today. My appointment was at 2:40. I went back with the nurse and did a bunch of paperwork and answered some medical history questions, then went back to the waiting room.

At about 3:40 I finally get into the exam room. The first thing the midwife does is get the Doppler out to listen to the heartbeat. She moves the wand around and around, scrunches up my belly, moves it some more and I notice that her eyebrows are furrowed. I'm starting to get a wee bit nervous. She asks if anyone ever mentioned that my uterus is tilted backwards and I tell her no. She tells me that she's going to send me to the ultrasound room to check the baby because she can't find the heartbeat.

We get down there and the u/s tech has left for the day. Since she doesn't want me to go home freaked out, she says "You're about to get a free u/s. I'm not supposed to do this so I can't charge you." She can't figure out how to get the machine running, so she gets another midwife. She can't figure it out either, so they go find one of the doctors.

Finally, after sitting in the u/s room for about 5 minutes, the doctor comes in and as soon as she puts the wand on my belly, I can see the baby wiggling around and a good, strong heartbeat!

Apparently my uterus tilts backwards. Ugh!

Belly Comparison

Last week, I was cleaning files off of my old dinosaur of a desktop computer and I came across my belly pictures from when I was pregnant with Audrey. I had taken one right about where I am now, so I had to take a comparison shot tonight. This is 12 weeks, 3 days with Audrey:

And this is 12 weeks, 2 days with Baby 2:

Yikes! You can't see my hip bones like you could last time. At least I have proof that there is only one in there. Week 12 has been a miracle week so far, As soon as I hit it, my morning sickness has almost totally gone away. This morning was the first time I had my usual morning dry heaves in three days! I don't even think I need to refill my prescription - yay!

We had a great weekend. Andy and I had a double date w/Tim and Amanda on Saturday night. Grandma and Papa came up and watched Audrey so we could go to dinner and a movie. I think Audrey enjoyed her evening apart from us too. When she woke up on Sunday, the first thing she said to me was "See Papa?"

We spent a good part of the day Sunday outside since it was so nice out. Audrey and I made our first solo trip to the pool. I had been such a chicken all summer, but she did great. We were the only people at the pool, which was nice, but Audrey would only sit on the edge and put her feet in. I think she would have gotten in if she saw some other kids in the water.

We were bad doggie parents today. When I got home from work at 6 pm, I opened the basement door and found Roscoe waiting for me. We totally forgot to put him outside when we left for work, although Hazel was out! I'm probably going to be blamed for that, but we left at the same time and neither of us noticed that Roscoe hadn't gone out. I ran to the back door to let him out and I've never seen him go outside that fast without a treat having been thrown first. He hadn't been out to go potty since probably 7ish the night before but he did not have an accident in the house. At least we didn't leave Audrey locked in the house while we worked, right? :)

Tomorrow is my 12 week check up. I get to hear the heartbeat and have lots of blood taken. Keep your fingers crossed that things are still going okay!

Gone Fishin'

Thursday was Audrey's final tumbling class. It was a lot more fun because they had music going, although they brought a Disney Princess tent that the kids were supposed to roll in and out of (like a toddler knows that), and Audrey spent most of the time sitting in the tent! Grandma Carol came and watched and hopefully will someday send the pictures she took!

On Sunday, we called Aunt Tina and the boys and headed to Buford Dam to go fishing (Uncle Jason was out of town). Tyler is very good at casting, but the little ones didn't really didn't know what was going on. The twins at least tried to cast their hookless lines, but I'm not sure Audrey even held her Scooby Doo pole. She was, of course, the first one in the ice cold water. (I remembered my camera, but I soon as I had a cute shot lined up of all four kids standing on the shore, my battery died. Ugh!) Needless to say, no one caught anything, but they had fun anyway! We were supposed to go see a children's musician at The Avenue in the afternoon, but by the time Audrey and I got up from our naps, the concert was over.

Today I put together a stroller for Audrey's baby dolls. Audrey thought it was for her and got super mad when I impeded her playing by putting the handle bar on. I told her that it was for her baby, and she pulled the baby out and squeezed her little butt in it. Is that the face of a drama queen or what?

She then sat in it to watch Little Einsteins. She's not going to have any jealousy issues with the new baby. Nope...

I guess we should have had the chair embroidered with "Hazel" on it, because this is where I always find her:

And, here's a picture of Roscoe 'cause he's so darn cute!

Home Alone

Today, I went to a consignment store and to a lady's house from craigslist to get some winter clothes for Audrey. In total, I spent $56 and I got a pair of brand new Stride Rite Mary Janes, a set of 3 jungle wall hangings for Audrey's bathroom, 3 pairs of pajamas, 3 sweaters, a dress, 9 pairs of pants, and 11 tops! I love saving money on second hand clothes (while Audrey is too little to know the difference). I just can't figure out how these people keep toddler clothes so freakin' clean? I probably won't be able to sell 3/4 of Audrey's tops because she is so messy. Anyone have any stain fighting tips?

I spoke too soon in my last post when I said that Audrey doesn't know her colors yet. She can say red, yellow and purple, but if you ask her what color something is, she always says "Red!"

Tonight, Andy is at the Braves game and Audrey is spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa F, so I am on my own. I have no idea what to do with myself! I found a website where you can publish your blog into a little book, so I may try to do that for all of my 2007 posts tonight. I figure that since this is essentially Audrey's baby book, I should probably print it out yearly.
