6 Month Stats

Miss Bridget had her 6 month check up this morning. She weighs 14 lbs, 9 oz (25th %) and is 26 inches long (50th %). We got the go ahead to start the Stage 2 baby foods and have to wait until she can sit up on her own (which she is very close to doing) before we try fruit puffs and cheerios. Dr. D said that since her eyes are still so blue at 6 months of age, they should stay that color or they may turn green like Audrey's and Andy's eyes.

I talked to the pediatrician about how Bridget doesn't really nap, and it's nothing of concern. Her doc said that when she gets a little older, her little cat naps should morph into two long naps - I hope so! Since big sis is phasing out her naps, Mommy needs some kind of break!

Bridget hasn't been sleeping well the past couple of nights and it turns out that it's because she has her first tooth! It must have just popped through overnight because it's barely out and I hadn't noticed it yet. The pediatrician was looking in her mouth and said "And there's your little tooth." I was like "What?? She didn't have that yesterday!"

Here is B's picture from her 6 month birthday:

And here is Audrey's. While looking back at the blog for Audrey's 6 month stats (she was close to 16 lbs!), I noticed that she was already sleeping with Puppy tucked under her arm by that age. I didn't realize she was so little when she became attached to that little dog!

It's amazing to me how different the girls are. Audrey was much more active (wiggling around her crib, etc) and smiley than Bridget. B is very serious and you have to work a little harder to get a smile from her. She still sleeps on her back and rarely rolls around. She is a champion raspberry-blower though! She does it whether she is happy or mad - it's cute seeing her little furrowed eyebrows while she's angrily blowing raspberries!

We have an exciting week this week - cousin #5 is scheduled to arrive via C-section in the morning! We can't wait to meet Baby Bryant!

I leave you with this *charming* video of my big princess. Andy found a turtle shell and brought it home to show Audrey. He didn't notice that it still had some "stuff" inside, so when he showed Audrey, there were maggots in the shell. She thought they were SO cool! In case you don't speak Audrey, she is talking about how she loves maggots and they are so cute. She kept running up to the back door and trying to get Mommy and Grandma Carol to come and look at the maggots. Hooray - maggots!
