Bryson City, NC

This weekend, we met up with our friends the Tate's at a cabin in North Carolina. After we brought our bags in, we went exploring outside where Audrey ran right into the creek, clothes and all. She and Daddy went out in the middle of the creek, which was ankle deep for Audrey, and she kept yelling "Yay!"

Andy and I brought this bed for Audrey that looks like a tent and has a blow up mattress. We weren't thinking and didn't test it out before the trip, and it did not go over well. We had to keep her up until she crashed on Friday night then put her in the tent. She woke up at 11 pm and we put her in our bed. She didn't go back to sleep until after 2 am, then woke up at 7 like usual.

Andy, David and Hazel spent Saturday fly fishing and Jennifer and I stuck around the cabin with the girls and other dogs. We went on a couple of "hikes," which with 3 little ones, is about 50 yards from the cabin. Saturday night we just let Audrey fall asleep in our bed and put pillows around her while we sat in the hot tub. She slept through the night that night, but I'm still exhausted today!

While we were packing up to leave, the Tate's dog got loose and she is a notorious runner. Andy and David spent a good while looking for her and couldn't find her. Andy went out for one last look as the rest of us, teary-eyed, were packing the girls into the cars. Luckily, Maggie is a barker if she sees a cat, so Andy found her at the last minute! He came walking up to the house with his belt around her collar as a leash. He was the hero of the day!
