The sibling rivalry has officially begun! Since Bridget has become more mobile and has a slight opinion on things, her big sis isn't as sweet about sharing. She used to bring Bridget toys, but now, if B has something that is Audrey's, all hell breaks loose. Audrey yells at her and snatches the toy away while poor little Bridget just looks confused and cries. She is starting to stick up for herself though - for the past couple of days, if Audrey comes near her while she is playing with something, she screams at her and pushes her away. When Bridget is upset and runs over for a hug, she always pats my back, like she is comforting me instead of the other way around. It's adorable! She also called me "mama" over the phone on Tuesday evening, so yay for that!
The girls do play well sometimes together. In this photo, they are chilling in the wheelbarrow after scooping pollen filled water out of the back of Audrey's coupe car onto Bridget's head. Bridge is always wiping stuff in her hair - it's her own personal napkin - and big sis was more than eager to help dump dirty water on her. That night, the bath water was a nice yellow color from all of the pollen!
Audrey has been acting like a dramatic 3 year old lately. She is easily reduced to tears when things aren't going her way, and her new thing is "I don't love you. You aren't my friend." Andy is usually at the receiving end of this for some reason, but I was told that last night when she didn't want to go upstairs and get her jammies on. I can look past that though, because she also likes to give me big hugs and say "You are my sunshine, Mommy."
Since we got DirecTV, we now have a bunch of new channels, including Nick Jr. Audrey typically watches The Disney Channel in the morning, so she wasn't really exposed to the Nick Jr. shows. She is now officially a Dora fan! She can't get enough of that show and she will yell out answers to the TV and sing the songs from the show all day long. If I try to change the channel while she is watching Dora, she gets mad, turns off the TV and says "Now you are watching nuffin!" It's Dora or 'nuffin' around here!
Andy points out animal tracks to her when they are outside and she even has her own kids guide book with scats and tracks. I ordered a new bench for the kitchen and when the box arrived, it had footprints on it with a warning of "Don't stand on the box." Audrey saw the box and said "Look, people tracks!" What 3 year old calls footprints "tracks"? Only Andy's kid!
