Audrey and Emma

Audrey celebrated Cindo de Mayo with her buddy Emma.

Take a look at how much they've changed since January!

I've mentioned before how Audrey likes to lick everything. She had to give Emma a taste too!

This is her in her Jeep Renegade from Great Uncle Ronny. He bought and sent this before Audrey was even conceived, so it's a good thing we had a girl. I don't think Daddy would let a
little boy cruise around in a pink jeep!

Cereal Killer

Audrey had her first taste of rice cereal today. She has been watching everyone eat and wanting to stick food in her mouth for a couple of weeks now, so we thought she'd be ready - and boy was she!

Here's what the pediatrician said would probably happen on her first time eating cereal: She won't eat very much and will probably push most of it out of her mouth.

Here's what happened: She opened her mouth, swallowed the food and scarfed down a whole tablespoon in a couple of minutes! She probably could have eaten more, but I didn't want to over do it on her first try.

Here are the rest of the pictures:

I discovered that you can post 10 minutes of video on youtube for free, so here is Audrey Eating: The Movie (don't worry - it's only 30 seconds). Email me and let me know if it doesn't work.
Here are some older videos that I put on and forgot to link to. I'm sure no one will like these but the Grandparents, but here they are anyway! This first one is one of the first few times she was in her megasaucer. She's ready to play the slots in Vegas after practicing turning the wheels on her toy:
This is her trying to eat the dragon on her megasaucer:
And this is her laughing at my fake sneezes (at least someone thinks I'm funny):

A Tooth!

Miss Audrey was a little fussy on Thurday night while I was cooking dinner. I, naturally, thought she was fussy because she missed her mommy and didn't want to hang with Daddy (in my defense, she did calm down after dinner when I was holding her!). Andy said that he could see a whitish spot on her bottom gum and that she was probably getting a tooth.

According to the What To Expect book, most babies don't cut their first tooth until they are 7 months old, and Audrey is only 4 1/2 months, so I was still confident that she was fussy because she wanted her mommy.

Cut to this afternoon: Audrey was lying on our bed "talking" and I caught a glimpse of something in her mouth. I stuck my finger in and lo and behold - a tooth! It's barely poking out of her gums and obviously doesn't bother her too bad. She has been super drooly lately and wants to stick everything in her mouth, but I thought it was just a sensory thing.

I guess sometimes father does know best.

Wild West and Piggytails

Last Thursday, Audrey went to Wild West Day at Tyler's preschool. Although she didn't have any western gear to wear, she still had fun watching her big cousin get his face painted, pet some farm animals, slide down the big inflatable slide and jump in the moonwalk and Ryan enjoyed hugging Audrey at every chance he got! Tyler was happy when he walked out of his classroom and saw that Audrey was there (never mind that Aunt Niki was there too!).

Tina and I both forgot our cameras, but Cowboy Tyler posed for some shots afterwards.

Tyler is so sweet with Audrey. He checks on her and brings her toys. He was pretty excited when I asked him if he wanted to hold her. He sat in Jack's little chair, held his arms out and held her on his lap.

Today I decided to see if I could make little piggy tails in Audrey's hair. I think most 4 month olds would be jealous!

4 month check-up

Audrey had her four month check up this morning and once again took her shots like a champ! She screamed as the vaccine was going in, but as soon as the needle was out, she was fine.

Her weight was 13 lb 5.75 oz (50th percentile) and length was 24 5/8 inches (50-75th percentile). Her pediatrician told us to wait 2-4 weeks before trying to give her cereal because she's not good about finishing a bottle (she's a grazer like me) and she wants her to get most of her calories from fluids right now.

There were no signs of teeth trying to come in, which is fine by me! I'm dreading the whole teething process.

Dr. Douglass was impressed with how calm and well behaved Audrey is. :) She spent the whole exam trying to grab the stethoscope and thought it was funny when Dr. Douglass was checking her hips. She just happened to be in the hall when we left the exam room after shots and couldn't believe how Audrey was just chillin' in her dads arms!

And (Grandma H) she still thinks Audrey's eyes are going to stay blue!

When we got home, she was playing on the floor with her stuffed Roscoe puppy. I put it just out of her reach and she rolled over again while trying to grab it. She thought it was pretty cool for a minute, then she remembered that she doesn't like tummy time!

Rollin'

Miss Audrey rolled over from her back to her tummy this morning. She's been 'almost' doing it for a few days, but her bottom arm gets in the way. This morning she was on the bed with her Daddy and she rolled over. Her arm was pinned for a few seconds, then she managed to pull it out. She hates tummy time, so she wasn't as impressed as we were!

Easter

Audrey had a fun first Easter, even if the weather was a little chilly for her new pink dress. She had both sets of grandparents come up along with Uncles PJ and Alex and Aunt Steph. She got two Easter baskets and some great new clothes that Grandma H brought back from LA.

Here are the rest of her pictures:
